What intimacy it is to touch the flesh but not caress the soul. What intimacy it is to embrace the carcass but not the ideals which define the person? God assigns specialized roles through gender stratification, to develop and fulfill (both) the soul incarnation of self. The fulfillment of those roles, (in and around relationships with significant others), leads to self expression and greater awareness of life. Thus, gaining confidence and avoiding manipulations, we move on to the business of living and loving. The earnestness that comes with confiding, when you “trust” the person, is beyond description. You know that you will not be judged for the short comings, the sins of commission and omission, becoming more aware of how the world is viewed from other side of the fence. Such gender literacy makes you whole. In fact, romantic preoccupations (again and again) are an attempt to recapitulate what has been amiss since the onset of adulthood – the holiness. Once whole (and holy) we can go on with the business of living. What intimacy it is to touch the flesh and not (caress) the soul. What intimacy it is to embrace the carcass but not the ideals (which defines the person)? Psych Clinical Notes.
