“Poetry is the music of the soul, and, above all, of great and feeling souls.” – the famous words of the French writer, historian, and philosopher, Voltaire are a fitting description for this revered genre of literature. And good poetry tuned with the perfect keynotes is, literally, music to our ears.

Ever heard a song on the radio that took you back to your sweet childhood days? Does not ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ call out to the patriot within you? ? How does it feel to listen to an old song from the first movie that you had watched as a child? Do not the lyrics of Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan awaken the Sufi within you?

Dear readers, to keep alive the rich tradition of poetry and music, we, at the Ziauddin University Atlas, bring to you a new category –  ‘MUSIC’.
If you have a passion for singing, or if you can play musical instruments – ah, but melodiously! – then this is the platform for you to showcase your talent and to share with us some good music.
Send us a well-shot, good quality video of you singing – it can be a recreation of your favorite song, or better yet, even your own composition – and we will feature it on our blog. You can even send us good quality links to your favorite songs, telling us which lyric spoke to you the most, which note struck you right there.
Please note that content containing profanity, or any sort of abuse and violence will NOT be published.

“Poetry is plucking at the heartstrings, and making music with them.” Dennis Gabor, the Nobel-winning Hungarian-British electrical engineer, and physicist nailed it for us, didn’t he?
Dear readers, we hope that you will look forward to contributing, and to enjoying the submissions for ‘MUSIC’ as much as we look forward to featuring your heartwarming songs, that will help us all pluck at our heartstrings after rewarding, yet, long, tiring days spent in lecture halls and clinics.

Your submissions await us at
Best regards,
Arfa Masihuddin,
M.B.B.S., Batch XX
Editor-in-Chief, 2016-2017.
